Join the DC Bar Intellectual Property Law Community on December 7, 2020 for our virtual celebration of the D.C. Bar 2020 Champion of Intellectual Property Award Honoree.

The Award is being given to retired Chief Judge of the Federal Circuit, Paul R. Michel. The program will also include a special honor in memory of the late Donald R. Dunner to highlight both his career in shaping patent law and his contribution to the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center.

September 1, 2026 – The American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) joined the Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO) and the International Trademark Association (INTA) in a letter to Congress supporting the extension of the USPTO’s fee-setting authority, which is set to expire on September 16, 2026. The organizations emphasized the importance of this authority in enabling the USPTO to fund operations, modernize its systems, and maintain efficient patent and trademark examination processes.
