  John currently chairs Womble Bond Dickinson’s US Intellectual Property Litigation Group. John’s practice focuses on complex disputes involving trade secret misappropriation, patent infringement, trademark and trade dress infringement, unfair competition, copyright infringement, false advertising, antitrust, and cybersecurity (data breaches). Specifically regarding trade secrets, in addition to many civil matters John has recently worked with the United States Government to protect clients’ interests on the criminal front, including one matter in which a defendant was sentenced to six months in prison.   Elizabeth Ferrill is a partner in the Washington D.C. office of Finnegan LLP. Elizabeth counsels clients who hold design patents as well as those accused of infringement. She has prosecuted families of design patents before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), directed prosecution in foreign countries, and argued appeals before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). She also litigates design patent matters at the U.S. district court level that include trade dress claims.
