As a creative problem solver, Lauren excels at translating complicated technologies into understandable concepts. She advises clients as they navigate complex intellectual property disputes across diverse fields, including computer software, 3D printing, biotechnology, chemical solutions and surgical methods. As a perpetual student, she is also currently exploring the innovative potential presented by the evolving technology landscape — including blockchain, artificial intelligence and the internet of things — and its impact on how we live and work.

Patent Litigation

Lauren represents patents owners and accused infringers in patent litigation cases. She has managed nearly all aspects of a patent litigation case, from the initial case investigation through discovery, contentions, claim construction, expert reports and summary judgment to appeal.

 

Post-Grant Proceedings

Lauren has represented both petitioners and patent owners in inter-partes review (IPR) proceedings at the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.

 

Intellectual Property Licensing

Lauren counsels clients on patent licensing matters, from negotiating terms to enforcement.

 

Freedom to Operate

Lauren provides strategic risk analysis for freedom-to-operate and patent enforcement evaluations.

 

Business Litigation

Lauren has represented clients in breach of contract and antitrust matters at their intersection with intellectual property rights.

 

Additional Experience

Prior to joining Faegre Baker Daniels, Lauren served as editor-in-chief of the Wisconsin Law Review and interned for Chief Justice Shirley S. Abrahamson of the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
