Shaikh, Neelofer

Neelofer Shaikh is an attorney in Covington & Burling LLP’s Los Angeles office and a member of the Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Practice Group.  She advises clients on a wide range of privacy, cybersecurity, and consumer protection issues, including privacy and cybersecurity obligations under U.S. federal and state laws, cybersecurity preparedness and incident response, and defending against regulatory inquiries and class-action litigation.

Ms. Shaikh’s diverse practice includes counseling clients on the design of new products and services to ensure legal compliance, drafting and negotiating privacy terms in agreements with third parties, and representing clients in privacy class-action and other litigation.  She also assists companies on cybersecurity incident preparedness and response, including engaging forensic vendors under nondisclosure agreements, analyzing obligations under federal and state breach notification laws, and responding to federal regulatory inquiries.
