A trial lawyer with over 20 years’ experience, Dan is a member of the Intellectual Property and Technology group with a focus on IP and complex commercial litigation. Dan handles high-profile matters involving claims of copyright and trademark infringement, counterfeiting, unfair competition, false advertising, trade dress infringement and defamation before federal and state courts and arbitration forums. Dan has also advised and defended clients in a variety of false-advertising matters, including enforcement actions instituted by the Federal Trade Commission, matters before the National Advertising Division (NAD), and class actions alleging fraud and misleading statements in advertising.

Dan has significant experience handling merger and acquisition litigation, class action defense, international arbitrations, securities cases, closely held company and partnership disputes and other matters for companies and individuals across numerous industries, including entertainment, music, media, art, fashion and technology. His experience in art litigation includes matters involving restitution of stolen art works, disputes over ownership, criminal defense of art market participants, fraud in the sale of fine art, and commercial matters related to art lending.

Dan also has extensive experience in financial services litigation, having represented companies, banks, hedge funds, alternative investment entities, shareholders, and executives and employees in securities fraud cases; estate and fiduciary litigation, including ESOP and ERISA matters; director’s and officer’s liability claims; post-closing disputes; shareholder and partnership disputes; breach of fiduciary duty claims; corporate governance issues; bankruptcy litigation; and employment-related claims.
