Stefan provides patent prosecution and preparation services to a wide range of clients, from solo inventors and start-ups to global enterprises. Clients also depend on him for guidance in patent portfolio management, infringement and clearance issues, IP transactions, post-grant review proceedings in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and litigation. 

Stefan’s subject matter expertise spans a wide range of mechanical and electrical technologies, such as power generation systems, telecommunications, medical devices, and robotics. His automotive expertise includes engine components, alternative fuels, infotainment, guidance systems, drive systems, and vehicular reinforcement.

Before becoming a patent attorney, Stefan worked for nearly five years as a safety and crashworthiness engineer for General Motors. He received a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Kettering University (formerly known as GMI Engineering & Management Institute) and a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Wayne State University Law School. He is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the Michigan Intellectual Property Law Association, and he is admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
