Sheila Martinez-Lemke is a partner at Weaver, Austin, Villeneuve & Sampson LLP (WAVSIP) in Oakland, California. Sheila has more more than 15 years of experience on all aspects of patent prosecution, and focuses on strategic development of international patent portfolios. She holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.S. in Aerospace/Civil Engineering, and has technical expertise in optics, image processing , image processing, microfluidics, electrochromic devices, composite structures, and fuel cells.  Before joining Weaver Austin Villeneuve & Sampson, Ms. Martinez-Lemke was an associate at Townsend and Townsend and Crew, LLP (Kilpatrick Townsend) and at Baker Botts, LLP.

Prior to law school, Sheila was a principal investigator in research at Northrop Grumman where she oversaw the manufacture of a reusable rocket to launch low-orbit satellites, on-aircraft testing of composite parts, and computational optimization of carbon-fiber wings on supersonic aircraft. She also worked with Disney Imagineering on designing two theme-park rides.

Sheila serves on the advisory board of the San Francisco Intellectual Property Law Association. She is also faculty at the Practicing Law Institute and is frequent speaker/moderator, and actively serves on several AIPLA committees.
