Mike Kasdan is a Partner in the intellectual property group of Wiggin and Dana LLP. He is also the founder and Co-Chair of Wiggin’s Blockchain and Digital Assets Group and Chair of Wiggin’s Trade Secret group.

His practice spans litigating IP disputes – including patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secrets - to IP licensing and counseling companies on strategy, transactional agreements, and procurement of IP. In the web3 space, Mike has focused his work on IP strategy, NFT licensing and commercialization. His clients range from Fortune 500 companies to emerging companies and span diverse industries ranging from consumer electronics to fashion to music and entertainment.

Mike also serves as an Adjunct Professor at NYU School of Law teaching IP licensing and is a guest lecturer at the NYU Law Business Clinic and NYU Entrepreneurship Institute, teaching IP for entrepreneurs. He has been a leading voice educating entrepreneurs, creators, and innovators on the importance of IP strategy and execution, often speaking in Twitter Spaces, LinkedIn Live, and at industry conferences and writing in publications such as the National Law Journal, Law360, Bloomberg, Thomson/Reuters, and Managing IP.

Michael has been regularly listed as one of the world’s-leading IP Strategists in the IAM Strategy 300 and has regularly been listed in Super Lawyers. He also has assumed various leadership positions in the IP bar. He was the founding Chairman of the New York IP Alliance (NYIPA) in 2021, heads the New York Chapter of the International Intellectual Property Commercialization Council (IIPCC), and serves as Co-Chair of the New York Chapter of the Licensing Executives Society (LES). 

Mike is also a diversity, social justice and mental health advocate. He is the Director of Special Projects for The Good Men Project and the Founder and Chief Enthusiasm Officer of Lawyering While Human.

He holds a BSE in EE from the University of Pennsylvania and a JD from NYU School of Law.
