Jeff Jackson has been the Director of Innovation Transfer at the University of California, Santa Cruz for the past eight years and leads the university’s efforts in invention intake, IP protection, IP policy drafting, review, and compliance, licensing, and (most relevant for this topic) collaborative research agreements. Jeff has over 18 years of experience in academic tech transfer including roles at Oregon Health & Science University and the Translational Genomics Research Institute. Jeff is registered with the USPTO and has  a J.D. from the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University.  Jeff also holds an MS in Immunology from the University of Washington and a BS in Biological Sciences from Stanford. Prior to his IP career, Jeff worked for seven years as a researcher in the biotechnology industry.
