John D. Higgins is counsel in Sterne Kessler’s Mechanical & Design Practice Group. His practice primarily focuses on patent prosecution, strategic counseling, and post-grant proceedings before the PTAB. John has over ten years of experience preparing and prosecuting applications covering a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and biomedical technologies. A former USPTO examiner, John uses his insider perspective to work collaboratively with examiners and secure strong patent protection for his clients. Helping shape the next generation of patent practitioners, John teaches patent prosecution as an adjunct professor at the University of Tennessee.
