Michael Friedland is a partner at Knobbe Martens in Irvine, California and is the co-chair of its Litigation Practice Group.  In three decades of practice, he has represented clients in hundreds of patent, trademark, trade secret, and copyright cases across the country.  He previously served as the co-chair of the Firm’s Trademark and Brand Protection Litigation practice group and its Consumer Products Litigation practice group.

Mr. Friedland is a graduate of U.C. Berkeley and Harvard Law School, was an associate at Irell & Manella, and joined Knobbe Martens in 1996.  He is the Secretary of the Harvard Law School Association and a member of its Executive Committee.  He taught as an adjunct professor at Whittier School of Law and was a JAG officer with the California State Military Reserve.  He served as Reserve Deputy with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department for 16 years, retiring as a Lieutenant.
