For over 15 years, Jess Ergmann has driven high-value technologies from the lab to the global marketplace. As Head of IP Transactions at Sagacity Legal, a practice she leads alongside her longtime mentor and firm founder, Randi Karpinia, Jess develops practical transactional frameworks and commercial strategies that turn complex IP assets into scalable revenue streams. Jess brings a distinct "client-side" perspective honed across early-stage startups, global enterprises, venture capital, and elite research institutions, most recently at The Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. There, she oversaw IP strategy and operations while negotiating high-stakes strategic transactions between world-class researchers and commercial partners. A recognized leader in the legal community, Jess serves as Vice Chair of AIPLA’s IP Transactions Committee. Outside the office, Jess is a proud "boy mom" to two sons, ages 7 and 9, who consistently prove to be her most demanding negotiating partners.
