Davis, Laura

Laura is a partner and experienced litigator at DeWitt LLP. She has experience litigating patent (utility and design), trademark, copyright, and trade secret disputes, as well as other commercial disputes. In addition, Laura regularly handles cancellation and opposition proceedings before the TTAB and IPR proceedings before the PTAB. She has obtained successful outcomes at all stages of litigation from preliminary injunctions and summary judgment to trial and appeal. Most recently, she has successfully defeated patent infringement and other related claims on summary judgment while going on to obtain a favorable verdict pursuing trade secret violations in the same case.

Laura regularly litigates disputes in courts nationwide, but her primary practice is in the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin. She has experience as both lead and local counsel. Laura is also experienced at the appellate level, including handling recent appeals and oral arguments in the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals and Federal Circuit.

Although Laura enjoys advocating for clients through litigation and welcomes a good fight, she understands that litigation may not be the best option or business decision for every client or dispute. Thus, she also uses her litigation experience to consult clients on steps to reduce risk and strategies to minimize potential exposure.
