Carpenter, Megan

Megan Carpenter is an internationally recognized leader in intellectual property, technology, innovation, and legal education. She is a Professor of Law at the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law, where she served as the first female Dean from 2017 to 2025. At Franklin Pierce, she significantly strengthened the intellectual property program, increased enrollment, transformed the financial position of the institution, and led the creation of innovative academic programs. During her tenure, she was named one of the Most Influential People in Legal Education by National Jurist.

She is currently serving as a Senior Advisor on Global Innovation, Leadership, and the Future of IP for the International Trademark Association. 

With more than 20 years of experience in intellectual property and technology, Carpenter founded the award-winning Hybrid JD in Intellectual Property, Technology, and Information Law and previously established the Center for Law and Intellectual Property at Texas A&M School of Law. She has delivered more than 150 keynotes and presentations worldwide, authored over 30 publications, and is a frequent speaker and commentator on IP, technology, and innovation. Carpenter also serves in leadership and advisory roles with numerous national and international organizations focused on intellectual property, legal education, and economic development.
