Jason has served as in-house patent and brand counsel with The Procter & Gamble Company for over 20 years, leading the IP strategies of numerous consumer products business units, including Fabric & Home Care, Beauty Care, Feminine Care, Corporate Innovation, Oral Care, and Personal Health Care. Jason lived in Germany for three years as patent counsel for P&G’s EMEA Feminine Care business during an international assignment. With experience in leading IP activities for billion-dollar brands, Jason has particular expertise in global IP strategy (patents, trademarks, trade secrets, copyrights), freedom-to-practice investigations, legal risk management, patent application drafting and prosecution in the US and European Patent Offices, patent oppositions in the European Patent Office, IP enforcement and litigation, IP licensing, due diligence and patent portfolio analysis, contract negotiation, and resolving patent infringement assertions of non-practicing entities (NPEs). In addition to his IP responsibilities, Jason also serves as brand counsel for the Pepto Bismol® and Metamucil® brands, advising on advertising claims, trademarks, supply chain, and other commercial legal issues. Prior to law school, Jason worked as a product development chemist and perfumist for P&G’s Fabric & Home Care business. He has a B.S. in Chemistry and Juris Doctor, both from The Ohio State University.
