Micheal Binns is an AI and innovation executive focused on building and advising AI-powered businesses, who until August 2026 served as Director and Associate General Counsel at Meta Platforms, where as Head of Patents and Trade Secrets he led global patent, trade secret, design, and licensing strategy across artificial intelligence, AR/VR/MR, wearables, and social platforms. He came to that role from fourteen years in private practice — as a partner in the IP counseling and litigation group at Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein, and previously as an associate at McGuireWoods and at Fitzpatrick, Cella, Harper & Scinto — serving as lead attorney in more than two dozen disputes before the federal courts and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. He is a co-founder and board member of ADAPT.legal and President-Elect of The IP Law Foundation, and holds a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and a B.S. in biology from Morgan State University.
