Alex Bamiagis, Esq. has been an Attorney-Advisor with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) since 2008. In that capacity, he has mostly worked in CBP’s Office of Trade in Regulations and Rulings for the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Branch. During that time, he has also worked on detail for the White House in the Office of the U.S. Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator as a policy advisor. Mr. Bamiagis’s IPR Branch docket focuses on CBP’s enforcement of exclusion orders issued by the U.S. International Trade Commission for violations of Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930, many of which concern highly technical matters. With respect to his technical background, Mr. Bamiagis graduated from Yale University in 1999 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry and later earned a Masters of Health Science degree from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Mr. Bamiagis also graduated from the George Mason University School of Law with a Juris Doctorate degree and is currently a member in good standing of the Virginia State Bar.
