Arbitration/Mediation of patent, trade secret, trademark/trade dress, copyright disputes. Mr. LaFuze’s ADR practice is directed primarily to arbitration work, and primarily to patent, trade secret, and technology-related disputes. Mr. LaFuze has handled many IP arbitrations, both as counsel and as an arbitrator. The subject matter of most of Mr. LaFuze’s work has been in the electronics, computers, internet, smartphone, and oil and gas drilling technology fields. He has handled many cases both domestically and internationally under the formal rules several ADR associations such as the American Arbitration Association (AAA), and similar organization. More often, he has worked as an arbitrator by agreement of the parties not under the auspices of any ADR organization. He has served as the Chair of the American Intellectual Property Law Association ADR Committee for the last several years, is on the American Bar Association Section of Dispute Resolution, and also serves on WIPO panels of patent and trademark arbitrators.
