The Maurice Klitzman Award was created to help young corporate patent practitioners continue their learning. The Award provides for a junior corporate attorney or corporate patent agent the opportunity to attend the AIPLA Annual Meeting (with most expenses paid), and the opportunity to be paired with a mentor during the meeting.

The winner of this Award receives:

  • Complimentary Registration for the AIPLA Annual Meeting, October 24- 26, 2024
  • Roundtrip coach airfare or train fare
  • Hotel accommodations at the conference hotel
  • Tickets to all functions and incidental ground transportation

About Maurice Klitzman

The award was established as a lasting and appropriate memorial to Mr. Klitzman for his active service to AIPLA. His heart and soul were dedicated to training young patent attorneys and helping them to develop a broad approach to IP Law with a conviction to moral principles and ethics. His career was a unique blend of corporate IP law, heart-felt support for the inventor, and shaping the mindset of future IP leaders.

Mr. Klitzman served as a member of the Board of Directors and a member of the Amicus Committee. He also took an active role in educating many new patent attorneys, both as a senior corporate patent counsel and as an adjunct law professor. ​ ​​​​
