Acting Register of Copyrights Karyn A. Temple has appointed Kevin R. Amer deputy general counsel of the United States Copyright Office, said the United States Copyright Office in a March 5, 2019 news alert.
In his position, Amer assists the General Counsel and Associate Register of Copyrights in providing legal guidance to the Office’s divisions, promulgating regulations governing the administration of the copyright system, advising congressional offices and other federal agencies, and developing legal positions in copyright litigation and other matters.
“Kevin has provided expert counsel on a broad array of copyright matters during his time at the Copyright Office, including litigation, policy reports, and international issues,” said Temple. “He will continue to be an extremely valuable member of the Copyright Office team in his new role as deputy general counsel.”
