We are pleased to present the 2022 Design Rights Boot Camp in a Virtual format in November 2022! The program will be presented online beginning November 3, 2022 and will run on the subsequent days, November 7 & 9, and November 14 & 17. The sessions will be presented live, but will be available to all registrants on demand, in case you miss any sessions.
Strengthen your design rights skills, including copyright, trade dress, and design patents with our virtual program.
The Design Rights Boot Camp is a first of its kind five-day comprehensive CLE program designed for both new and experienced IP practitioners who wish to learn about protecting and enforcing designs in all areas of IP, including design patents, copyright and trademark dress. The program has classes for both beginning practitioners and experienced practitioners that want to know more about the increasingly important area of design rights. The whole range of design rights practice will be covered, from prosecution to enforcement. International topics are also included, including the Hague agreement, trade dress internationally and copyright internationally.
Participants will have two sessions per day for the first three days. The final two days will be focused on breakout learning sessions in targeted practice areas, where we will work in small groups on a specific industry type to discuss in detail how to consider the multiple overlapping type of design rights for specific industries .

VIP Products LLC (No. 22-148) supporting reversal and remand of the Ninth Circuit’s decision below. AIPLA Advocacy and the USPTO Delaying Fee for Patent Applications Not Filed in DOCX Format

AIPLA is pleased to report that based, in part, on its continued leadership in intellectual property advocacy, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has again delayed implementation of fees on patent applicants who do not file applications in a specific electronic filing format. The USPTO is delaying the effective date of this fee until April 3, 2023. -
