The UK is due to leave the European Union on March 29 – but what will it mean for intellectual property?

The UK’s Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys, supported by AIPLA, is bringing a Brexit roadshow to the United States this April to explain all.

Sir Colin Birss, a judge of the Patents Court of England and Wales and officials from the UK Intellectual Property Office will join a delegation led by CIPA President Julia Florence for events in Washington DC, Boston and Palo Alto.

The CIPA seminars, which will also explore hot topics such as the patentability of artificial intelligence, will come to Washington on Monday, April 22, Boston on Tuesday, April 23 and Palo Alto on Thursday, April 25. They will each be followed by networking cocktail receptions.

The events will also feature the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (CITMA), Circuit Judge Kathleen O’Malley of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (in Washington), Laurie Hill, Vice President, Intellectual Property at biotech giant Genentech (Palo Alto) other US judges and leadership from AIPLA.
