The Book Club

With the relaunch of our Book Club, we provide a new forum for members to interact together on a new platform. Every quarter, the Book Club discusses an interesting read and members share their thoughts and opinions via teleconference. The Book Club is low commitment but a great avenue to connect with others. New members welcome!

The Speaker Bank

The Women in IP Law Committee began working with AIPLA in June 2014 to increase participation by our members in the AIPLA educational programs as speakers and moderators at stated meetings, seminars and webinars, by creating a Speaker Bank. The Speaker Bank is a database of our members who are interested in speaking and/or moderating, and today we have over 150 potential speakers and moderators, and we have assisted in placing speakers and moderators for numerous AIPLA events.

The Women to Watch Series

The Women in IP Law Committee introduced the Women to Watch Series in January 2016. Each quarter, we feature one of our members, nominated by a peer, highlighting, in her own words, her personal and professional development. This program inspires our members to help women and allows us to get to know our members. These fabulous Women to Watch will be published on all Women in IP social media sites, as well as our blog.

The TSC Liaison Program

The TSC Liaison Program links members of AIPLA’s target committees with its substantive committees to promote a diverse group working on important issues facing AIPLA today. The Women in IP Law Committee initiated a program to encourage its members to take on this important role so that we can provide updates on their activities at each stated meeting. We are currently looking for liaisons for many of the substantive committees.

The Collaboration Program

AIPLA, through the Women in IP Law Committee, will collaborate with various organizations having a shared passion for promoting women. To date, the committee has met with the USPTO, the ABA, and the National Association of Women Lawyers (NAWL) to discuss potential collaborative activities.

Our first collaboration event will be the 2016 AIPLA Women in IP Cares Community Service Event, organized with the Women in IP Law Outreach Subcommittee. More information on the Women in IP Cares Community Service Event can be found HERE.
