Corporate Practice

This committee develops and disseminates information relating to intellectual property law and practice which is particularly useful to corporate lawyers. This committee also leverages technology to deliver such programming in a way that maximizes the limited time available to in-house counsel to obtain developments and updates in intellectual property law and practice, as well as to promote efficient exchanges of best practices. ​​​​

Announcement Description
  

Through the generosity of the Klitzman Family, AIPLA is introducing the Maurice Klitzman Award.  This award will cover travel expenses to the Annual Meeting for a junior corporate attorney or corporate patent agent.  For more information, check out the announcement.

In addition (and not just for award recipients) AIPLA will waive the meeting registration fee for any first-time corporate attendee.  Please tell any junior corporate attorneys or corporate patent agents you know about these two items and note that the application deadline is September 15, 2011. ​

We are co-sponsoring several events at the Spring Meeting here in San Francisco that starts officially tomorrow and goes through Saturday.

  • Thursday, May 12 (3:30-5:30 pm in the Pacific Heights room): Joint Meeting of the Corporate Practice, Antitrust Law and Licensing and Management of IP Assets committees
  • Friday, May 13 (7:00-9:00 am in the Twin Peaks room): Joint Breakfast Meeting of the Corporate Practice, Diversity in IP Law and Women in IP Law committees
  • Friday, May 13 (3:30-5:30 pm in the Rose Ballroom): Joint Meeting of the Corporate Practice and Trade Secret Law committees
Also, Ken Seddon (our chair) and James Carruth (our vice-chair) will be at the meeting so please find them and share your feedback about AIPLA and the committee as well as what we can do in the future to improve our committee.
