And the Regional AIPLA Moot Court Winners Are...

Arlington, Virginia—Regional competitions in the AIPLA 2013 Giles Sutherland Rich Memorial Moot Court Competition concluded this past weekend and now eight teams of law students advance to the national competition, April 17-19 in Washington, DC.
The competition, celebrating its 40th anniversary, provides law students the opportunity to argue their case before local judges, and before Federal Circuit judges at the national competition. The competition is named after Judge Rich, a former judge on the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit who was the most distinguished jurist in the field of patent law in the world.
The regional competitions were held in Houston, TX, Silicon Valley, CA, Chicago, IL and Boston, MA. The winning teams will participate in the national competition, April 17-19 at the Howard T. Markey National Courts Building in Washington, DC. A reception will follow the final round on April 19 at 3:00 pm at the Dolley Madison House.
Students will participate in quarter-finals, a semi-final and a final round of competition facing a prestigious panel of judges and experienced attorneys from the federal government and the private sector.

In order to allow the federal judges to remain neutral in the competition, the names of the law schools participating in the national competition are kept confidential. AIPLA will release the list of law schools participating and the first and second place winners shortly after the competition comes to a close.
If you are interested in attending the national competition, please RSVP to Lindsay Nalevanko before April 8. For security reasons, it is important that your RSVP.
