AIPLA Opens Registration for its 2017 Annual Meeting

Latest issues and trends in patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret law focus of CLE sessions.
ARLINGTON, VA. - Nearly 3,000 practitioners with expertise in patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret law from around the world will convene Oct. 19-21 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel n Washington, DC for the American Intellectual Property Law Association’s 2017 Annual Meeting.  Registration is open online at

The three-day conference brings together a diverse community of IP professionals from across the industry to connect and exchange best practices; to acquire new knowledge and stay on the front line of IP issues and trends; and to strengthen their professional network and advance business development.
Joseph Matal, Performing the Functions and Duties of the Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the US Patent and Trademark Office, has been invited to provide remarks for the Opening Plenary, Oct. 19. 
Collectively, education sessions offer a total of 885 CLEs, inclusive of Ethics CLE credits, and explore the topical subject matter in:

  • Trademark Law
  • Copyright Law
  • Trade Secrets
  • Corporate IP
  • International IP Law
In-house counsel, who have not attended a previous AIPLA stated meeting, are invited to attend the 2017 Annual Meeting free-of-charge.

AIPLA, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, was founded in 1897 to maintain a high standard of professional ethics, to aid in the improvement in laws relating to intellectual property and in their proper interpretation by the courts, and to provide legal education to the public and to its members on intellectual property issues.
