 The Trademark Law Committee serves as the coordinating committee for AIPLA committees which deal with all aspects of trademark law. Through its own members and subcommittees, as well as through the other AIPLA trademark committees which it coordinates, this committee considers the laws and treaties of the United States concerning trademarks, trade names and unfair competition involving trade identity; the operations of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in trademark matters; the common law and State statutes concerning trademarks and trade names, and related unfair competition law; the laws of other countries concerning trademarks, trade names and unfair competition which may affect the business of U.S. companies, and coordinates with the International of Foreign Law Committee with regard thereto; and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors in regard thereto.
