Patent Cooperation Treaty Issues
 
Sec. 1. This committee shall serve as a facilitator in promoting dialogue between the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the World Intellectual Property Organization, and the patent bar, and provide a structure that supports educational programs sponsored by a combination of the Office, the Organization, local bar associations, and individual members of the patent bar.
Sec. 2. This committee shall coordinate its activities with the Patent Law Committee.

SPRING COMMITTEE MEETING ALERT –On Wednesday, May 11, 2005 Matt Bryan, Legal Advisor for the PCT at WIPO, will make a presentation to a joint meeting of the E-Business and PCT Committees on the effect of 2004/2005 PCT Reform initiatives, E-filing progress, search and examination qualitiy initiatives and future Reform proposals for the May 2005 Reform WG.

 

 The International Patent System in 2004 - Yearly Review of the PCT  -is available on WIPO's Internet site at http://www.wipo.int/pct/en/index.html

 

PCT ANNOUNCES E-LINK BETWEEN OFFICES AND IB - Electronic communication between Offices and the International Bureau of documents in the PCT System is now possible using PCT-EDI.

 

AIPLA COMMENTS TO USPTO REGARDING FILING FEES - in response to a AIPLA Executive Director Mike Kirk sent a letter to USPTO Director Jon Dudas regarding the Proposed Interim Rule that would adjust fees for applications entering the National Stage in the US and suggesting further adjustments in recognition of searches and examination under the International Stage would be desirable.
