2008 AIPLA Job Fair Information for Participating Firms and Corporations

INFORMATION FOR EMPLOYERS and INTERVIEWERS

Registration is now open for the 18th Annual Job Fair.

The Job Fair interview process will be held in person on Saturday, October 25, 2008, from 11:00 a.m. and continue throughout Saturday afternoon at half-hour intervals until 4:00 p.m. at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C. The Job Fair is always held on the last day of our Annual Meeting. Please click on the Meetings and Events section above and click on Stated Meetings to see the 2008 Annual Meeting highlights.

Interviews will be conducted in Hotel Suites or in 8’ x 10’ booths.

REGISTRATION FEES:
• Job Fair - Employer Registration – Hotel Suite: $330 (includes one job posting)
• Job Fair - Employer Registration – Two Hotel Suites: $660 (includes two job postings)
• Job Fair - Employer Registration – Booth: $439 (includes one job posting)
• Job Fair - Employer Registration – Two Booths: $878 (includes two job postings)
• Job Fair - Employer Registration – Three Booths: $1,185 (includes 10% discount and three job postings)

There are a limited number of Hotel Suites available on a first-come first-served basis. Suite reservations require a two-night minimum and are available for $251 plus tax per night. Suites are limited to two per Employer. If you selected a hotel suite, we will send you the necessary form to complete with payment and confirm your reservation with the hotel. Forms must be returned to AIPLA NO LATER THAN FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 2008.

Once your Job Fair Registration is complete, your account will be credited for the appropriate amount of job posting credits. You will need to go into your account and use those credits to post your Job Fair positions. So that applicants will have enough time to prepare their applications, we ask that you post your Job Fair positions as soon as possible but not later than September 2, 2008.

The eligible AIPLA members will register for the job fair as Job Seekers. They will post their resume online at the AIPLA Job Fair or submit their application NO LATER THAN FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 2008. Their online resumes will be accesible in the Career Center and will be distinguished by a special Job Fair icon.

Do not directly contact participating members for an interview or hire them in advance of the Job Fair. If you interview or hire any participating members prior to the AIPLA Job Fair this may jeopardize your ability to participate in future AIPLA Job Fairs.

We will send you an interview selection form. Please list the top ten candidates and return the form to AIPLA headquarters NO LATER THAN FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2008. The contact person is responsible for selecting the eligible members your firm/corporation who will conduct the interview(s). Please select at least ten candidates per interviewer, unless you receive fewer than ten resumes. It is important to select ten candidates to be fair to all applicants. Our goal is to ensure that the eligible members have the opportunity to interview, to the extent possible.

Once AIPLA Headquarters receives all interview selection forms, we will compile a schedule that matches the candidates with the participating interviewers. The most interviews each candidate could have is ten. Our objective is to schedule all of the candidates you have requested. The firm/corporation contact person will receive your schedule NO LATER THAN FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 2008.

Cancellation Policy: There are no refunds. A large number of AIPLA Members will post resumes and plan to interview. Please understand this is a COMMITMENT. This is very important to our Members! If you cancel your participation in the Job Fair your firm/corporation may not be able to participate in future Job Fairs.

The interviews will begin at 11:00 a.m. and are scheduled on the half hour throughout the afternoon until 4:00 p.m. All participants are committed to conducting ten interviews or the corresponding number if they receive fewer than ten resumes.
