IP Practice Areas - International
The protection and enforcement of IP rights on a global basis requires a knowledge of the currently diverse laws, practices and procedures in individual countries or regions.
AIPLA, through its committees, provide information and educational materials with regard to recent and future developments in various countries or regions, including committees focused on IP Practice in Europe, IP Practice in the Far East (primarily south east Asia), IP Practice in Japan, and IP Practice in Latin America. The committee responsible for Trademark Treaties and International Law similarly is concerned with laws, treaties and legal developments on a global scale. The International and Foreign Law Committee serves as the umbrella committee for the several geographically focused committees, and offers a broader global perspective to developments world wide, including the international treaties that may affect IP rights. There is, however, a committee specifically concerned with PCT Issues. Links to other professional organizations, including AIPPI, the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA), the Chartered Patent Attorneys Association (CPAA), FICPI, the Japan Patent Attorneys Association (JPAA), the Japanese Intellectual Property Association (JIPA) and the Korean Patent Attorneys Association (KPAA).
