For outstanding service in fostering the mission and goals of AIPLA. This award recognizes those who demonstrate excellence by making an exceptional contribution to AIPLA, particularly in furtherance of AIPLA's goals, including advocacy, service, education, and growth.

Rick D. Nydegger, of Workman Nydegger, and President-Elect of AIPLA, was the first recipient of the new President's Award, presented at the AIPLA 2003 Spring Meeting in Atlanta. In presenting the award, AIPLA President Ron Myrick cited Rick's continuous outstanding leadership and service to the AIPLA organization, and particularly Rick's valuable contributions to the development and execution of AIPLA's position on the US PTO's Strategic Plan and 2003 Fee Bill legislation.
